Environmental Responsibility Pledge

Preferred Media approaches its responsibility to the environment with the same passion and discipline that it applies to the management of your assets. Our objective in all of our operations is to improve our efficiency and diminish our carbon footprint, while maintaining the highest quality of service our clients have come to expect from us.

Managing our impact

We actively manage the impact of our operations, always aiming to:

  • Use resources efficiently, re-use and recycle where possible to minimise the generation of waste
  • Consider environmental issues in the procurement of goods and services
  • Consider environmental issues and energy performance in the acquisition, design, refurbishment, location, management and use of buildings
  • Continuously improve performance and aspire to integrate environmental management good practice in business operations

Preferred Media promises to continually assess the eco-friendliness of our operations, and will do our best to promote similar behaviour in our community. We aren’t perfect. But we are committed to continual improvement.

What we’re doing

Here are some of the things we’re doing now to reduce our carbon footprint:

  • Solar installation at our Lane Cove premises, providing a significant proportion of our energy requirements
  • Highly calibrated climate control in our facilities mean that little heat or air conditioning is wasted (we aim for and hit very specific temperature ranges dictated by the requirements of our media assets)
  • The majority of lights in our facility are on sensors
  • Electronic communications over print whenever possible
  • International meetings conducted via internet or phone as often as possible, to reduce the environmental impact of business travel
  • As we purchase new shipping and office supplies, we choose recycled, recyclable products
  • A conscientious, educated staff (each with his or her own personal commitment to conservation)

The list continues to grow. Please join us in our effort to preserve our natural resources. Thank you.
